Hello Sir.

What I have come to realize.

Talking with some of my friends, I have come to remember a simple thing that Christians tend to forget : That it is because of Jesus that we are able to have faith. That it is by his doing that we are able to advance in our faith. And it is only through Jesus that we can ever hope for advancing farther in our faith.

You can’t just read your Bible more, pray more, evangelize more, and be a better person on your own strength. Sure, you may temporarily, through sheer will-power, force yourself to be these things, or rather, ‘act’ these things, but in the long run, it is only by the grace of God that we have come to faith.

From Paul, to the church in Corinth:

4I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, 5that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge—6even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— 7so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9

As my father usually says: Once you accept Christ, your life is no longer yours.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galations 2:20

All glory to God.

Old Testament: Genesis

Genesis 12:1-4

“The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

So Abram left, as the Lord had told him…”

Oh how I long to have the faith of Abram (Abraham). God promised him that ALL the people on earth will be blessed through him. Abraham was used by God mightily, and I think the one of the major reasons why - beside his faith - was that he obeyed and acted upon it. Its so hard to have genuine faith and trust in the Lord these days. You’re always thinking about yourself and how you can benefit from everything. Bless others (Something I definitely have to work on).

Genesis 15:4-6

“Then the word of the Lord came to him: ‘This man will not be your heir, nut a son coming from your own body will be your heir.’ He took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the heavens and count the stars - if indeed you can count them.’ Then he said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness”

Before saying what genuine trust Abraham had in the Lord i’ll begin with saying, what a righteous and loving God we serve. If only we, as humans, had the capability to trust in the Lord and see Him as righteous in everything. (At least me). I feel I’m the one who’s hindering myself from fully experiencing God’s glory, righteousness, grace, and love by being lazy in practicing my faith and feeding my spirit.

Finals Week December 2010, Praise God I am here at UCI studying to become what I want to become. Praise God for putting the people around me in my life. Praise God for my salvation and my faith. Praise god for everything. We’re not on this earth to please ourselves…
